Shadow

Shadow represents the boldest color choice in the Studio Collection, and it's not for the faint of heart. This deep charcoal gray makes a definitive design statement that will either anchor your space beautifully or feel like a commitment you'll regret—there's little middle ground with dark floors.

The color execution is impressive for the price point. Rather than a flat, opaque dark gray that hides wood character, Shadow retains visible grain patterns and natural variation. The wire-brushed texture creates subtle shadows within shadows that add depth and authenticity.

Practically speaking, dark floors are high-maintenance. Every dust bunny, pet hair, and water spot shows prominently. Shadow requires more frequent sweeping than its lighter siblings—often daily to maintain pristine appearance. Metro Vancouver homeowners who choose Shadow understand this tradeoff: they're trading easy maintenance for dramatic visual impact.

Where Shadow excels is in creating contrast. White baseboards pop. Light furniture floats. Artwork becomes more prominent. In rooms with good natural light and predominantly light décor, Shadow can be absolutely stunning.

The 18mm thickness and 2mm American Oak wear layer remain identical to other Studio Collection products. You're getting the same quality construction in a dramatically different color.

Shadow is best suited for spaces where you can commit to the maintenance demands and design implications. It's not a good choice for high-traffic family homes or spaces where you want flooring to fade into the background. But for the right application—a sophisticated master bedroom, a dramatic living room, or a modern home office—Shadow delivers high-end aesthetics at entry-level pricing.
