Sky

Sky represents the Studio Collection's entry into the popular gray-washed wood category. Rather than a stark gray that abandons wood warmth entirely, this shade achieves a balanced "cool brown" that reads as naturally weathered oak.

The color is well-executed for the price tier. You get visible gray undertones that create contemporary cool appeal while retaining enough wood warmth to avoid the plastic appearance some gray-washed floors develop. The light wire-brushed texture enhances this weathered aesthetic.

This shade works particularly well in spaces with cool lighting (north-facing rooms, LED lighting) where traditional warm woods can appear out of place. It also photographs beautifully, making it a smart choice for anyone considering eventual home listing. Greater Vancouver property owners increasingly expect flooring that looks as good in listing photos as it does in person.

From a practical standpoint, Sky's medium-cool tone shows dust more readily than warmer shades but hides cooler-toned debris like pet hair and denim lint. It's a reasonable trade-off for those committed to contemporary aesthetics.

The construction remains identical to other Studio Collection products: 18mm thickness, 2mm American Oak wear layer, FSC and CARB2 certification. This is genuine wood with a sophisticated finish treatment, not a printed image.

Sky works best when committed to as part of a cohesive cool-toned design scheme. Mixing with too many warm wood elements can create visual conflict—if you have warm wood furniture you love, consider Woodland or Tusk instead.
