Moss

Moss represents an interesting color choice within Toucan's TF60 Series: a dark brown that reads decidedly cool rather than warm. This positioning gives it appeal in spaces where traditional warm oaks feel out of place but true gray or black feels too stark.

The cool undertones become apparent when comparing Moss to warmer browns in the Toucan lineup. Where traditional oak reads amber or honey, Moss has hints of gray and cool earth tones that complement contemporary décor with cool gray walls and modern furnishings. The shade classification as 'Dark' with 'Cool' tone on the manufacturer site confirms this positioning.

Surface quality matches other TF60 Series products with Embossed in Register texture that provides convincing grain depth. **Metro Vancouver flooring contractors** note that the darker coloring tends to hide minor surface imperfections but shows dust and pet hair more readily than lighter alternatives—a practical consideration for pet owners.

At 12.3mm thickness with AC4 durability, Moss offers the same reliable construction as its series siblings. The 36-hour water resistance remains adequate for careful households but falls short of truly waterproof performance.

I'd recommend Moss for contemporary living rooms, modern bedrooms, and transitional spaces where the traditional warmth of honey oak doesn't fit the design direction. The cool brown works particularly well with white, cream, and light gray furnishings that benefit from a grounding dark floor.

The main challenge with any dark floor is showing dust, lint, and pet hair. Households with light-colored pets should consider this practical maintenance reality before committing to dark flooring. Regular sweeping becomes more necessary than with lighter alternatives.
