Advanced Nature

Advanced Nature represents the goldilocks zone of oak laminate flooring: not too light, not too dark, not too warm, not too cool. This might sound like fence-sitting, but there's real value in a floor that doesn't demand attention yet elevates everything around it.

The TF70 Series positions itself as a modest step up from Toucan's entry-level TF60 products, primarily through improved water resistance (48 hours versus 36 hours). While neither approaches true waterproof status, the additional protection provides meaningful peace of mind in households with kids prone to spills or pets with water bowl enthusiasm.

Surface quality is comparable across Toucan's EIR collections, with convincing grain texture that aligns properly with the printed pattern. **Metro Vancouver flooring professionals** recommend the matte finish for its resistance to fingerprints and reduced dust visibility compared to glossier alternatives—a practical consideration for busy homes.

At 12.3mm thick, Advanced Nature provides decent underfoot stability and modest sound dampening. The lack of attached underlayment remains a consistent shortcoming across Toucan's laminate range, adding both cost and installation complexity that competitors sometimes eliminate.

Where this product truly excels is in its chameleon-like ability to complement any design direction. I've seen it work beautifully in everything from farmhouse-style homes to sleek contemporary condos. That neutral oak coloring simply doesn't fight with anything, which makes it an exceptionally safe choice for rental properties, spec homes, or anyone who changes décor frequently.

The AC4 durability rating and reasonable warranty structure provide confidence in long-term performance, though the commercial warranty's 15-year term suggests Toucan positions this firmly in the residential market.

My main critique is that this floor may feel too safe for buyers wanting their flooring to make a design statement. Advanced Nature is a supporting player, not a star attraction, and that's perfectly fine if you know what you're getting.
