Franklin Xtra

Franklin Xtra is for people who know what they want: modern, cool, and definitively gray. Named after Benjamin Franklin—a man who approached both science and style with bold conviction—this floor delivers uncompromising contemporary appeal.

The gray here is balanced and true, sitting comfortably in the medium range without veering too light or too dark. It reads as sophisticated pewter, with subtle wood grain texture that prevents the industrial coldness pure concrete-look floors can create. You get modern edge with organic warmth. Vancouver flooring professionals appreciate how well this medium gray photographs in listing photos.

Beneath the contemporary aesthetic, you're getting serious substance. The 12.3mm HDF construction provides the solid, confident underfoot feel that distinguishes premium laminate from budget alternatives. AC4 commercial rating means this style comes with substance—it handles real life.

The 72-hour spill protection addresses the practical concerns of laminate in kitchens and dining areas. Gray flooring shows certain spills more obviously than brown tones, making that water resistance particularly valuable. You have time to clean properly without panic.

One consideration: cool gray floors can make spaces feel colder, especially during our rainy winters. Balance with warm textiles, natural wood furniture, and warm-toned lighting to prevent the space from feeling sterile. Franklin Xtra provides the cool foundation; you provide the warmth through furnishings.

The matte finish reinforces the contemporary aesthetic while providing practical benefits—it hides minor scratches and scuffs better than gloss and photographs beautifully without distracting reflections.

For those committed to modern design, Franklin Xtra is one of the best values in the market. It delivers designer-worthy gray flooring at under $4/sqft with a lifetime warranty.
