Anderson Xtra

Anderson Xtra represents the quintessential traditional oak look that Canadian homeowners have loved for generations—now upgraded with modern performance features. Named after Mary Anderson, inventor of the windshield wiper, this color brings clarity and vision to your flooring choice.

The 12.3mm thickness is immediately noticeable underfoot. Unlike thinner laminates that can feel hollow or plasticky, Maven Xtra has a substantial, solid feel that rivals engineered hardwood. The HDF core provides excellent dimensional stability, and the AC4 rating means it's tough enough for light commercial applications while being perfect for busy households. Metro Vancouver flooring professionals regularly specify this product for renovations where durability and aesthetics both matter.

What sets Maven Xtra apart from the standard Maven collection is that crucial 72-hour spill protection. This isn't full waterproofing—you shouldn't install it in bathrooms or laundry rooms—but it gives you a comfortable safety window for those inevitable spills that happen in kitchens, dining rooms, and living spaces.

The Välinge 5G locking system makes installation genuinely DIY-friendly. The drop-lock mechanism doesn't require angling or force, and the precision engineering ensures tight, gap-free seams that enhance both the look and water resistance. Plan for 48 hours of acclimation before installation.

One consideration: while the matte finish looks sophisticated and hides minor scratches well, it may show dust more readily than semi-gloss options. Regular sweeping or vacuuming keeps it looking its best.

The lifetime residential warranty covers wear, stain, and fade—unusual confidence for a product under $4/sqft. The 15-year light commercial warranty makes it viable for small businesses or rental properties.
