Mitchell

Mitchell positions itself as the traditional heart of the Maestro collection, offering a warm beige that connects with centuries of European oak flooring heritage. Where some competitors chase trends, Mitchell celebrates the enduring appeal of classic hardwood.

The color walks a careful line—warm enough to create inviting spaces yet refined enough to avoid the yellow-orange cast that plagues lesser oak floors. The smoked treatment mellows the natural oak color while the wire-brushing adds subtle texture that catches light beautifully.

Construction mirrors the color's quality commitment. The 18mm thickness provides substantial underfoot feel, while the 3mm dry solid sawn veneer ensures this floor can be maintained for generations. Unlike rotary-cut veneers common in budget products, the solid sawn construction reveals consistent grain patterns that become more beautiful with age. Metro Vancouver homes appreciate the no-acclimation advantage that the eucalyptus core provides in our humid climate.

The matte finish represents current best practices in hardwood finishing. It eliminates the artificial "showroom shine" that dates quickly, instead presenting a natural, lived-in appearance from day one. The UV-cured urethane provides excellent durability without the maintenance demands of traditional oil finishes.

Installation flexibility addresses diverse project requirements. The tongue and groove system accommodates floating, glue-down, nail-down, or staple methods. This versatility proves particularly valuable for renovations where subfloor conditions vary or where different rooms require different approaches.

The warm beige works particularly well in rooms with natural light, where the floor seems to glow from within. It also performs admirably in north-facing rooms where cooler light might make gray-toned floors feel cold.

One consideration: this traditional aesthetic may not suit ultra-contemporary spaces seeking stark contrast or industrial edge. Mitchell is unapologetically classic.
