Alboro

Beaulieu positioned Alboro as the collection's most versatile neutral, and it delivers on that promise. The careful balance between warm and cool undertones means this floor genuinely works in any light condition and with any color scheme, which is harder to achieve than it sounds.

Like all Gallo products, the 8.3mm HDF construction provides a solid foundation. The AC4 rating gives you confidence in high-traffic areas, and we've found Beaulieu's aluminum oxide surface treatment to be genuinely effective against everyday scratches. Pet claws and chair legs don't leave their mark the way they would on lesser floors. Greater Vancouver installers often recommend it for households with active pets and children.

The Välinge 2G installation system is straightforward — angle the short end and drop to lock. It's not as tool-free as the newest 5G systems, but it's reliable and forgiving of minor subfloor imperfections. Budget-conscious homeowners tackling DIY installation will appreciate the forgiveness.

Visually, Alboro's strength is its neutrality. The embossed oak grain adds enough visual interest to feel like real wood, while the matte finish reduces glare and fingerprint visibility. It photographs lighter than it appears in person, so we recommend seeing a sample before committing.

The same limitations apply across the Gallo collection: no waterproof protection means careful spill management, and the separate underlayment requirement adds cost and installation steps.
