Aurelian Xtra

Conquest Xtra represents Beaulieu's answer to the #1 concern with traditional laminate flooring: water damage. The HydraPlanks technology seals the edges of each plank, creating a barrier that keeps surface water from absorbing into the HDF core for up to 72 hours.

To be clear, this is water-resistant, not waterproof. The sealed edges protect against spills, splashes, and wet mopping mishaps, but the floor is not suitable for installation in full bathrooms or areas with standing water. Think kitchen protection, not swimming pool perimeter.

The practical benefit is stress reduction. Instead of scrambling to clean up every spill immediately, families have time to notice and address wet messes during normal daily routines. The 72-hour window provides a substantial safety margin for everything from knocked-over glasses to pet water bowl overflows. Vancouver flooring professionals regularly recommend the Xtra line for households with pets and children.

Technically, Aurelian Xtra maintains the same premium specifications as the standard version: 12mm thickness, AC4 durability rating, and the same warm beige coloration. The angle/tap installation system is slightly different from the standard Drop Lock but remains DIY-friendly.

The E0 certification (in addition to FloorScore and TSCA Title VI) indicates this product meets the strictest formaldehyde emission standards—even lower than the already-strict CARB II requirements. For households with young children or sensitivity concerns, this additional certification provides extra assurance.

The premium for water resistance is modest—typically 10-15% over standard Conquest. Given the peace of mind and expanded installation options (kitchens, laundry rooms, entryways), the upgrade cost is easy to justify for most homeowners.
