Ferdinand

Ferdinand represents Beaulieu's answer to the ongoing demand for greige flooring—that perfect blend of gray and beige that has dominated design trends for the past decade. Unlike many competitors that lean too heavily toward gray, Ferdinand maintains enough warmth to feel inviting rather than cold.

The taupe base with subtle gray undertones photographs beautifully and works with the gray-dominant color palettes popular in contemporary design. It pairs naturally with white, gray, navy, and sage green—the colors that dominate modern interior design inspiration.

Technically, Ferdinand delivers identical specifications to its warmer Conquest siblings. The 12mm thickness provides substance and sound dampening, while the AC4 rating ensures durability suitable for demanding residential and light commercial use. Greater Vancouver flooring contractors often recommend it for modern condos and townhouses throughout the region.

The cooler tone does come with considerations. Ferdinand can feel cold in north-facing rooms with limited natural light—pair it with warm textiles and lighting to balance the temperature. It also shows dust more readily than warmer browns, though the medium variation in the grain pattern helps mask daily wear.

For those fully committed to the gray trend, Ferdinand may not be gray enough—it maintains significant brown undertones. But for homeowners wanting a floor that nods to contemporary trends while maintaining timeless warmth, this greige option hits the sweet spot.

As with all standard Conquest products, moisture is the consideration. Ferdinand is not water-resistant and requires immediate cleanup of spills. The Ferdinand Xtra version adds 72-hour spill protection for kitchen or entryway applications.
