Aurelian

The Beaulieu Conquest Aurelian represents solid value in the 12mm laminate category, offering thickness and durability typically found in higher-priced products. The AC4 rating means this floor can handle not just busy households but also light commercial applications like small offices or boutiques.

Installation is straightforward thanks to the Välinge 5G Drop Lock system, which is widely regarded as one of the best click-lock mechanisms in the industry. Even DIYers with moderate experience should find the installation process manageable, though the 54.45" plank length requires some planning in smaller rooms. Metro Vancouver installers consistently praise this system for its reliability and speed.

The embossed surface texture provides both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits—it helps mask minor scratches and footprints while adding depth to the oak grain pattern. The matte finish is on-trend and resists fingerprints better than glossier alternatives.

One consideration is that this is standard laminate, not water-resistant. While the surface can handle occasional spills if cleaned promptly, standing water will eventually damage the HDF core. For kitchens or bathrooms, consider the Conquest Xtra version instead.

The Austrian manufacturing ensures consistent quality control, and the comprehensive certification package (FloorScore, TSCA Title VI, CARB II) provides confidence in indoor air quality. The lifetime residential warranty is excellent for this price category, covering wear, fade, and staining under normal use.
