Taylor

Taylor represents the cool extreme of the Casting palette, though "cool" here is relative — it's still real wood with inherent organic warmth. The greige character comes from careful selection of boards that naturally exhibit gray undertones, enhanced but not created by the clear matte finish.

The practical advantage of greige flooring is relevance to current design trends without the coldness that pure gray floors can have. Gray-washed floors became ubiquitous in contemporary design, but many homeowners found them stark and unwelcoming. Greige offers the contemporary aesthetic with enough underlying warmth to feel livable.

Under cool LED lighting (increasingly common as energy-efficient bulbs dominate), Taylor reads as a sophisticated neutral. Under warmer lighting or direct sunlight, the wood's inherent warmth emerges, preventing the floor from feeling cold. This adaptability is a key advantage over heavily gray-washed competitors. Greater Vancouver installers often recommend Taylor for open-concept spaces where flooring needs to flow through areas with varying natural light.

Construction matches the rest of the collection: 12mm total thickness, 2mm sliced European White Oak, eucalyptus core, and UV-cured matte urethane. The greige character is achieved through board selection rather than heavy staining, meaning the color remains natural and the grain remains visible.

For the contemporary home buyer wanting real hardwood without dated honey-oak warmth, Taylor offers the updated aesthetic at accessible pricing. The 2mm veneer ensures you're getting genuine wood character with refinishing potential, not a printed image.
