Sarandon

Sarandon occupies what might be called the "zero point" of the Casting collection — pure, unadulterated oak character without significant warm or cool manipulation. Where Hopkins leans golden and Taylor moves toward gray, Sarandon stays centered on what natural European White Oak actually looks like.

This authenticity has practical value. When shopping for furniture, rugs, and décor, you're not fighting against strong floor undertones. When lighting changes through the day and across seasons, Sarandon simply shifts from lighter to deeper oak rather than revealing unexpected color casts. The floor becomes genuinely versatile rather than merely adaptable.

The medium variation across planks reinforces this natural authenticity. You see the characteristic grain patterns of oak — cathedral shapes, ray flecks, and natural color shifts — without artificial enhancement or suppression. The wire-brushed texture adds depth that helps the floor photograph naturally without appearing either flat or overly processed. Metro Vancouver installers appreciate the eucalyptus core's stability, which handles the humidity swings between our dry heating season and wet winters without expansion issues.

From a specification standpoint, Sarandon matches its siblings precisely: 12mm construction, 2mm sliced veneer, eucalyptus core, and UV-cured matte urethane. The difference is purely aesthetic, achieved through the selection and sorting of boards for consistent sandy-beige character.

I particularly recommend Sarandon for homeowners who may be selling in the future but want to enjoy genuine hardwood in the meantime. Its universal appeal ensures broad buyer acceptance without sacrificing your own enjoyment of authentic wood floors.
