Foster

Foster represents the archetypal warm oak that most people envision when they think of hardwood flooring. It's not trying to be trendy or unusual—it's simply delivering on the promise of beautiful, warm, real wood at an accessible price point.

Compared to its sibling Costner, Foster reads lighter and brighter. The honey highlights are more pronounced, giving the floor a sunlit quality even in rooms with limited natural light. This makes Foster particularly effective in north-facing rooms or basement installations where warmth needs to be created rather than enhanced. Metro Vancouver homeowners often recommend it for these challenging spaces.

The wire-brushed texture shows clearly in this lighter tone, adding subtle depth that prevents the floor from reading as flat. The micro-bevel edges create gentle definition between planks without the deep grooves that can trap dirt.

Practically speaking, Foster is slightly less forgiving than darker options but more forgiving than the lightest colors in the collection. It's a genuine middle ground that works harder than it gets credit for.

For traditional home designs, Foster is essentially the default choice—it does what warm oak should do, does it well, and does it at a price that makes real hardwood accessible to more homeowners.
