Silver Mist

The decision to upgrade from Silver Mist 6 to Silver Mist 12 often comes down to household activity level. The high variation in the Rural Reclaimed pattern already helps disguise normal wear, but the 12 mil wear layer extends that advantage significantly.

For households with dogs, the combination of scratch-resistant Diamond 10® Technology with the 12 mil wear layer provides excellent protection. The gray tones and weathered pattern also disguise pet hair better than light, uniform floors.

Visually, Silver Mist 12 is identical to its 6 mil counterpart. The dramatic plank-to-plank variation creates floors with genuine character—no two installations look exactly alike. This makes it particularly appealing for homeowners who want personality in their flooring.

**Metro Vancouver flooring professionals** note that the 20-year residential warranty reflects confidence in long-term performance. For a floor this characterful, longevity matters—you want to enjoy the aesthetic for years without worrying about replacement.

Installation considerations remain consistent with the collection. The high-variation pattern requires thoughtful plank distribution during layout. Professional installers experienced with character products will achieve the most balanced results.

From a value perspective, the modest premium for the 12 mil version is well-justified for most households. The reclaimed aesthetic works best as a long-term design choice, making the durability upgrade particularly sensible.
